Shri Dada Godse Ramdasi


Ramdasi Shri Dada Godse (formerly Govind Shankar Godse) is one of the living disciples of Shrimat PP Sadguru Bhagwan Shri Shridhara Swami Maharaj. He was born on 25th Jan 1929 (Friday, Paush Purnima) at 11:15 PM at the holy confluence of rivers Dongri and Kitkur at Chalisgaon, Maharashtra His father’s name was Shri Shankar Gopal Godse and his mother’s, Sow Parvati (maiden name – Yamuna Sakharam Bhanage, Karjat, Nagar District, Maharashtra). He first met Shrimat PP Sadguru Bhagwan Shri Shridhara Swami Maharaj at Shri Kshetra Sajjangad in the month of March,1949. In their first meeting, Shri Swamiji ordered him to first go back and complete his graduation and then come again. Therefore he left for Mumbai to complete his education. On 5th Feb 1953, Shri Swamiji gave him ‘Anugrah’ in front of the Samadhi of Shri Samarth Ramdas Swami at Shri Kshetra Sajjangad. The time was 9 AM. In the year 1958, at a place called ‘Kate’s Point’ at Mahabaleshwar, Maharashtra, Shri Swamiji renamed him ‘Nishchalashant Swami’, it was a day of ‘Akshaya Tritiya’, and on 3rd Jan 1963 at Varadpur, Shri Swamiji bestowed informal sannyas diksha on him and ordered him to not wear the customary saffron coloured clothes that are associated with the sannyasa order ever. Ramdasi Shri Dada Godse was blessed by a total of 25 years of Shri Swamiji’s holy company. He is considered to be one amongst the closest and most intimate disciples of Shri Swamiji. He has composed prolific verses and prose in the honour of Shri Swamiji. He has also recorded 29 cassettes of audio memoirs of Shri Swamiji. He presently lives at Shri Shridhar Swamiji’s Ashram created by him at Padmavati Pune.
